What’s the role?

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who is passionate about building trusted platform products that improve the lives of engineers and customers.

At Marketplacer, the platform team’s purpose is to

• Make Marketplacer the most trusted SaaS platform through impeccable performance, reliability, availability, scalability, privacy and security for customers.
• Increase the velocity of the engineering team by focusing on the developer experience.
• Be commercially minded, allowing us to scale the platform cost-effectively.

You may be who we need for this role if you are a Senior Product Manager with at least 5 years of experience working with platform teams and is as passionate about the technical aspects as they are about providing the best possible experience for developers and customers.

What your days will involve:

• Lead a cross-functional squad of engineers using agile methodologies to respond to requests and maintain a prioritised backlog.
• Research to understand the business needs, market, user personas and competitors.
• Work with leadership and other business units to develop a high-level strategic plan for the platform health squad.
• Communicate your plans to key stakeholders, using strong presentation skills to help others understand the value of highly technical initiatives.
• Seek feedback and analyse data to understand what works, what doesn’t, and what to add so that you can incorporate feedback into future product iterations.
• Be the go-to person for platform, data privacy and security upgrades.
• Work closely with the security and privacy teams to understand compliance and audit needs.
• Work with leadership to manage the risk register, scoping solutions and demonstrate movement on platform improvements to mitigate risks.
• Have a quality mindset and work with engineers to run regression testing.
• Have a keen focus on security and resilience to protect end-users who depend on the platform to conduct business.

Essential skills for success include:

• An organised go-getter who can rally the troops to solve hard problems using dual-track agile.
• Can empathise with our customers, including the retailers and developers, and get passionate about the technical aspects.
• Can work on immediate tactical BAU and long-term strategic outcomes concurrently when there are many conflicting demands and keep the team focused.
• Strong communication skills, so you can advocate and influence other product managers to ally in your mission and translate highly technical concepts into something everyone understands the value of.
• Qualifications in Product Management and Product Ownership through General Assembly or equivalent training provider.
